How lengthening time series affect our understanding on sea floor ecology

An invited lecture organized by SLAFAR in collaboration with the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, University of Kelaniya and National Aquatic Resource Research and Development Agency was successfully conducted on 29th November 2016 at NARA Auditorium, Colombo 15.

The lecture was by Professor. Chris Frid, a senior marine biologist of Griffith University, Australia. The lecture focused on “Opening the temporal Window: How lengthening time series affect our understanding on sea floor ecology”

Professor Chris Frid visited Sri Lanka, under the visiting scholar programme of the University of Kelaniya and was serving as a visiting professor at the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management.

The lecture highlighted the importance of time series analysis of the sea floor ecosystem and also emphasized the long term changes in the open ocean ecosystem that can have potential effects on the sea floor.
