Journal Overview

Sri Lanka Journal of Aquatic Sciences (SLJAS) is the official journal of the Sri Lanka Association for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (SLAFAR), a peer reviewed indexed journal published twice a year.  

SLJAS publishes articles in the field of aquatic sciences including limnology, aquatic biology, fisheries, aquaculture and associated fields. Acceptable topics include aquatic ecology, biology of aquatic organisms, fish population dynamics, aquatic resources management, fishing gear technology, post-harvest technology, socioeconomics, farming systems, captive breeding of aquatic organisms, environmental aspects and related ecosystems. Articles may be research papers, technical notes, short communications or review papers.

All articles published in the journal are deposited in Crossref

Publication Frequency

Sri Lanka Journal of Aquatic Sciences is published twice a year (March and September).

Open Access Policy
  1. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving Policy

This journal is available for LOCKSS harvesting, to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. See LOCKSS harvesting start page.
