Public Lecture on “Intra-seasonal Oscillations in Equatorial Oceans”

A guest lecture on “Intra-seasonal Oscillations in Equatorial Oceans” by Professor Harindra Fernando (Wayne and Diana Murdy Endowed Professor) University of Notre Dame, was successfully conducted on 26th July 2016 at the National Aquatic Resource Research and Development Agency (NARA), Crow Island, Colombo 15. 

Recent research findings of Air Sea Interaction in the Northern Indian Ocean special reference to Madden Julian Oscillations, monsoon onset, Indian Ocean Dipole and recent El-Nino impact to the region were discussed in this lecture.

The lecture was highly appreciated by the participants specially university students as they could able to explore new direction of oceanographic research which is still in the developing stage in Sri Lanka. NARA scientists, academics, undergraduate students and many other interested parties were among the audience.
