SLAFAR has organized a school programme for the A/L students of Minu/ President’s College Minuwangoda. SLAFAR organized this workshop collaboratively with the Outreach Centre of Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. The awareness programme was on the practical components of the A/L agriculture curriculum. Practical exposure to tissue culture techniques, biotechnology, horticulture techniques, modern agro-irrigation techniques and field machinery and livestock production techniques were addressed in the workshop. Three Departments; Biotechnology, Horticulture and Landscape Gardening and Plantation Management of the faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and the Department of Livestock and Avian Sciences of the Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition were provided with their laboratory, field and human resources for the workshop. SLAFA Executive committee acknowledge the three departments and the two faculties for their support and corporation at organizing the event. A total number of 25 students and 4 school teachers attended the workshop.
